Description
Obele, a walking paradox of hunger and power, embodies the grotesque potential of Professor Jaguda’s experiments. Hailing from the formerly war-torn Niger Delta region, Obele was a ruthless mercenary who scraped by on the fringes of society. On the run from a botched military operation, he stumbled upon Professor Jaguda, who offered him sanctuary in exchange for his services. Professor Jaguda, ever the pragmatist, saw Obele’s immense appetite as a potential weapon, and subjected him to a series of horrific procedures. The result? Obele, transformed into a living gateway, a grotesque reminder of the dark pact between the Professor and Exu. Now, Obele serves the Professor with a single-minded focus – to appease the gnawing hunger that constantly consumes him.
Obele’s character thrives on the tension between his monstrous form and his lingering humanity. He is a tragic figure, a victim of Professor Jaguda’s twisted experiments and a pawn in Exu’s grand scheme.
Appearance & Clothing
Obele is a sight that inspires revulsion. Towering at 6’6″, his massive frame is dominated by a grotesquely distended belly, a constant reminder of his unnatural hunger. He favours stained and threadbare clothing – an undersized tank top that barely contains his bulk and sagging combat shorts that offer little dignity. His face is a roadmap of greasy grime and perpetual stubble, his bloodshot eyes holding a flicker of both fear and desperation. The most disturbing feature, however, is his mouth. A series of jagged scars mar the flesh around his lips, a chilling testament to Professor Jaguda’s handiwork. This maw can now expand to an unnatural degree, a gateway to a horrifying dimension fueled by Exu’s power.
Demeanour
Obele is a man of few words, his communication limited to grunts, moans, and the constant rumble of his ever-present hunger. He is a creature driven by a single primal urge – to consume. Professor Jaguda keeps him satiated with a steady supply of… “disappeared” individuals, but the hunger is never truly quelled. A quiet desperation lurks in Obele’s eyes, a longing for a life free from this insatiable craving. Despite his monstrous transformation, a sliver of humanity remains, a flicker of fear that surfaces when the Professor’s attention falls away.
Skills/Talent/Powers
- Superhuman Bite: Professor Jaguda’s experiments have granted Obele a set of razor-sharp teeth capable of tearing through flesh and bone with ease. His bite is a horrific weapon, a prelude to the even greater horror that awaits.
- Expanding Maw: The most disturbing aspect of Obele’s transformation is his mouth. Jaguda horrifically altered his jaw, allowing it to expand to an impossible degree. This maw now serves as a gateway, a wormhole leading to a chaotic dimension fueled by Exu’s power.
- Wormhole: Obele can open a portal within his stomach, leading to a nightmarish dimension filled with the raw chaotic energy of Exu. He can use this portal to devour objects, people, or even entire structures, sending them to this horrifying realm. However, prolonged use of the wormhole appears to take a physical toll on Obele, draining his energy and leaving him weak and disoriented.
- Ijakadi Adept: Obele’s grasp of Ijakadi allows him to briefly summon Exu-tainted spirits from his stomach to fight or feed, but using them too long risks him being consumed.
